Courtyard Recording Studios - situated on Gorsey Mount Street south (Gorsey Mount Street north is a residential street - the two were previously one long road now split by the dual carriageway from the town centre to the south). The premises were Victorian millworker's cottages and the character of the original rooms remains on the ground floor. The first floor was knocked through into one very large space.
In 2004-5 the area had a major facelift but because it is an access road only and not a throughfare there is ample parking at the front of the premises (in addition to the private, secure parking to the rear) and it is relatively peaceful despite being so close to the amenities and major roads. It is also nice to know that Stockport Police station is only 250 yards away - the building is of course extensively alarmed including the cellars and roofspace.
