Once upon a time recordings had to be mastered to a certain degree because of the properties of vinyl; combine this with the way that the vinyl coloured the sound and then heavy broadcast compressors used at radio stations and you have something a long way from what you get from simply dropping your mixes onto a CD. Hence, pro-mastering... we can do this for you at Courtyard with digital spectrum analysis and 7 pairs of reference monitors & domestic hi-fi speakers in different rooms (+ 1 pair of very experienced ears) using 3-band digital compression & limiting, valve/analogue & digital equalization to bring out the punch and add polish to your music. Live recordings or old demos can be transformed into something very usable.

Recording clients - mastering is inclusive of the rate paid for studio time (almost always it's going to be best to master at a separate session but please go to the pro-mastering.com website for more information).

SOUND RESTORATION - Vinyl, reel to reel tape, audio & VHS video cassette can also be transferred and the sound cleaned up and preserved on CD or DVD. Charges are from as little as £5 for direct transfers.
