Courtyard's owner Tim Woodward is jazz & classically trained in music & arranging (including Salford's famous 'pop degree', studying arranging with Goff Richards) and is an experienced midi-programmer, writer, producer, engineer and session & live musician (guitar & bass). He began engineering at the studio in 1988 when it first moved into the premises as a 16-track and became house engineer when it changed ownership and upgraded to 24-track in 1991. In 1993 he bought the business and continued to expand into digital editing & mastering and after 20 years at Courtyard, he is looking forward to new projects and expanding further into music education. Most importantly, if you book a session at Courtyard only one person will be at the controls; the person with 20 years experience using the space & with every reason to make sure your project sounds as good as it can.
Anything contributed by Tim to a project is included in the hourly or day rate. Whether it's 'production'... playing guitar... programming convincing drum or string parts... making tea...
