CRS is located close to Stockport town centre in North Cheshire; easy to get to and only a few miles from Manchester, South Cheshire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, North Wales & Lancashire Just around the corner from the location of the (in)famous Strawberry Studios, the area has a long history of music shops and venues as well as recording. 10 minutes south of Manchester city centre, 15 minutes from Manchester International Airport and on the edge of the Cheshire, Tameside & Peak District countryside. Strawberry Studios on Waterloo Road in the 70s, the 10cc time. Strawberry Studios in the 80s, the Madchester period Courtyard is 2 minutes from the A6 (Wellington Road/Buxton Road) which connects Manchester to Stockport then on to Hazel Grove, and either divert to Disley, High Peak, Buxton & Derbyshire or continue to Poynton, Macclesfield, Cheshire & the South Also a couple of minutes away is the M60 (leading to the M62, M56 and the motorway network) and Stockport train station with direct connections to London, Crewe, Chester etc. etc. Every train that goes to Manchester Piccadilly via Stockport apparently has to stop at Stockport - this arrangement dates back to an agreement when Stockport Viaduct (largest red brick structure in Europe... or the longest... something like that) was built. Interesting fact but more importantly very handy & one of the bonuses of CRS being where it is. |
