Your master, whether CD, DAT, Minidisc,
cassette or 1/4" tape, must be ready to duplicate from, as follows;
- consistent levels on each song/throughout.
Levels are set from from the first 2 - 3 minutes of the master supplied,
*so if later points have extreme levels (high or low) compared to
the start of the master this can cause either tape distortion or
excessive hiss.
*unless there is a reliable line-up tone on the master
or we are given specific timing of a 'peak'.
- required gaps between songs eg;
if there are 10 second gaps on your master they'll be 10 seconds
long on your copies!
If an 'original master'
is being used we recommend clients have a 'production master' produced
here (but do not insist). This means we can be sure of what we are
duplicating and clients have the benefit of a backup. We can't be
responsible for inaccurate tape lengths being ordered due to being
supplied with incorrect timings, however we are happy to do this for
you if you have any doubts.
(A charge may be
incurred depending on the format of the master).
